Oakwood brand returns to RP with new Ortigas address

LUXURY SERVICED apartment operator Oakwood is back in the country six years after its first apartment complex in Makati was hostaged by 321 armed soldiers in what is now known as the “Oakwood mutiny.”The new Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center Manila is expected to open at the Ortigas Center by the third quarter under Quantuvis Resources Corp., a property developer headed by businessman Jacinto C. Ng, Jr.

This is the American “temporary housing” brand’s second attempt to establish a foothold in the country after selling the infamous Makati apartments to the Ascott Group in 2006.

The new serviced apartment building will offer “modern serviced living” with 233 luxury residences ranging from fully furnished studios to three-bedroom units.
